Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D. K. Shivakumar revealed plans to conduct elections for all local bodies, including the Greater Bengaluru Authority municipal corporations, within the year. Speaking after inaugurating a new flyover in Bengaluru, Shivakumar highlighted achievements from the previous year, emphasizing advancements in governance and infrastructure projects.
Reflecting on the government’s accomplishments, Shivakumar praised significant decisions made in the irrigation sector, particularly in projects like the Upper Krishna Project and the Tungabhadra project. He expressed gratitude for the public’s trust and reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
In a statement, Shivakumar emphasized the administration’s dedication to enhancing Bengaluru’s infrastructure, citing the inauguration of a new flyover to alleviate traffic congestion near Hebbal. He also outlined ambitious projects by the Bangalore Development Authority, including the Bengaluru Business Corridor and the Outer Ring Road.
