Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha President and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya revealed that the Karnataka High Court has paused proceedings in an FIR lodged against social media commentator Kiran Aradhya. Surya emphasized that the case was allegedly politically motivated, aiming to suppress dissent. The High Court’s intervention was in response to two FIRs filed by Karnataka Police against Aradhya for videos criticizing former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Surya, accompanied by advocate Girish VHP, represented Aradhya in the High Court. The court’s stay order shields Aradhya from what Surya described as an abuse of the legal system by the Karnataka Government. The FIR against Aradhya was triggered by his critical videos on Siddaramaiah’s statements on social equality and socialism. Aradhya’s videos questioned Siddaramaiah’s principles and assets, urging leaders to lead by example in social welfare.

Aradhya’s video also highlighted Siddaramaiah’s stance on land compensation and called for a focus on issues like narcotics trafficking instead of targeting critics. The Karnataka High Court’s temporary stay on the FIR proceedings offers relief to Aradhya. The case is set for further hearings, with no official response yet from the Karnataka government on the allegations made by Surya regarding the FIR.
