Ramachandra Rao, emphasizing that such incidents cannot be tolerated within the department. He highlighted the need to prevent such occurrences and mentioned the Chief Minister’s concern over the matter. Immediate action was taken following discussions with the Chief Minister to address the situation promptly.
Parameshwara clarified that regardless of the individual’s seniority or influence, swift action must be taken in such cases. DGP Ramachandra Rao, facing suspension amid false allegations, denied the accusations. The Minister emphasized the importance of upholding honor and integrity within the police department, leading to the immediate suspension pending further inquiry.
In response to questions about DGP Ramachandra Rao’s visit to his office, Parameshwara stated that he did not meet him and underscored the necessity of appropriate actions in such circumstances. Addressing the BJP’s call for the DGP’s arrest, he mentioned that future steps, including possible dismissal, would be determined post the inquiry. Parameshwara also noted that details about the victim were limited to surface-level information at the current stage.
