Singer-songwriter Katy Perry is under scrutiny by Australian authorities following allegations of sexual assault made by actress Ruby Rose. Perry has refuted the claims, labeling them as “reckless lies” and presenting counter-arguments through her representative. The Victoria Police’s Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse Investigation Team is looking into an alleged historical sexual assault that reportedly took place in Melbourne in 2010.
Rose, known for her roles in ‘Batgirl’ and ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ accused Perry of sexual assault at a Melbourne club when they were in their early 20s. Despite initially stating she wouldn’t file a police report, Rose has now indicated that she has completed all necessary reports and will refrain from further public comments on the matter. Perry’s representative has vehemently denied the allegations, highlighting Rose’s history of making unproven accusations on social media.
