Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the CPI(M)-led government for creating a distraction in the alleged gold theft case at Sabarimala. He visited the shrine’s Tantri, Kantararu Rajeevaru, who had been in jail for 40 days and recently admitted to a hospital. Chandrasekhar expressed concern over the Tantri’s arrest without substantial evidence, emphasizing the need for a fair investigation.
Chandrasekhar highlighted the lack of evidence against the Tantri, questioning the basis of his arrest and alleging a deliberate attempt to shift focus from certain ministers. He accused the Special Investigation Team of diverting attention from key individuals linked to the temple’s security lapses. The BJP leader criticized the government for targeting the Tantri and emphasized the importance of upholding Kerala’s religious values and traditions.
Stressing the need to safeguard devotees’ beliefs, Chandrasekhar pledged to protect them against any form of exploitation or intimidation. He condemned the arrest of the Tantri as a strategic move to deflect attention from broader issues related to temple security. The BJP and NDA stand firm in supporting the rights of devotees and ensuring transparency in the investigation process.
