Kerala Chief Minister, V.D. Satheesan, showed his support for students protesting in Delhi by joining them. He participated in the protest alongside top Congress leaders who were condemning the police’s actions against the students. Satheesan, who was in Delhi for official meetings, visited the protest site after completing his scheduled engagements.
The Congress party’s decision to stand with the students and their demands was highlighted by Satheesan’s participation. Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other senior Congress leaders were also present at the protest. They emphasized the importance of listening to the students’ concerns and resolving them through dialogue.
During the protest, the students, under the CJP banner, have been demanding the government address issues related to NEET paper leaks and take corrective actions, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The presence of senior Congress leaders like Satheesan added a strong political dimension to the protest.
The Congress leaders criticized the Union government for not addressing the students’ issues promptly and called for a swift response. Satheesan’s decision to join the protest amid his busy schedule in Delhi showcased the Congress’ broader campaign for democratic rights and accountability from the NDA government. With Parliament in session and the protest gaining momentum, the Congress is expected to continue advocating for the students’ cause both inside Parliament and on the streets.
