In a pioneering move, the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has introduced a unique AI-driven free entrance coaching program for around eight lakh Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary students in government schools. This innovative initiative, named ‘Key to Entrance,’ utilizes Artificial Intelligence through KITE’s ‘Samagra AI Learning Room’ to provide tailored preparation for competitive exams like KEAM, NEET, CUET, CA Foundation, and various PSC tests. It is the first time a State government in India has offered AI-based entrance coaching at no cost to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
KITE CEO K. Anvar Sadath explained that the AI system creates personalized study schedules based on individual learning speeds and test results. The platform continuously evaluates progress and assigns question sets at three levels – Beginner, Intermediate, and Excellent – tailored to each student’s abilities. Over 20,000 questions, reviewed by expert educators, are available on the platform, along with comprehensive mock tests to replicate real exam scenarios.
The initial phase of subject training, currently underway, covers subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, and Political Science. The subsequent phase, starting on February 25, will introduce modules in English, Reasoning, and General Awareness. Schools have been directed to ensure broad student participation, including outreach through Parent-Teacher Associations. Students in Classes XI and XII can log in to the platform at www.entrance.kite.kerala.gov.in using their Higher Secondary or Vocational application number as the User ID, with passwords provided by school principals or nodal teachers.
Comprehensive user guides and video tutorials are accessible online. In addition to digital access at home, schools are required to offer on-campus facilities for students without devices or internet access. Sessions are also aired on the KITE VICTERS channel and archived on its YouTube channel, underscoring Kerala’s commitment to merging public education with scalable, AI-driven learning resources.
