Kickstart FC claimed their maiden win in the Indian Women’s League 2025-26 by defeating Sribhumi FC 2-1 at Kalyani Stadium. Babysana Devi scored the winning goal from a penalty in the 85th minute, overturning Sribhumi’s lead.
The victory propelled Kickstart to three points from five matches, breaking their streak of four defeats. On the other hand, Sribhumi, with six points from four games, missed opportunities to extend their lead.
Sribhumi dominated the early stages, securing a 1-0 lead with Yumnam Kamala Devi’s penalty in the 12th minute. Despite creating numerous chances, they failed to capitalize further.
Kickstart regrouped at halftime, displaying improved defensive resilience in the second half. Loveth Njideka Edeh equalized in the 81st minute, seizing on a defensive error.
In a dramatic turn of events, Babysana Devi converted another penalty in the 85th minute, securing Kickstart’s comeback victory. The win, crucial for Kickstart’s campaign, places them in the relegation zone in seventh place.
