The city of joy, Kolkata, will host Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21 for the International Yoga Day celebrations. Over 600 yoga instructors and demonstrators have been chosen to ensure the event’s success, with rigorous practice sessions ongoing. This marks the first time Kolkata will host the Yoga Day celebrations, aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the largest participation.

Yoga enthusiasts anticipate a massive turnout of 30,000 to 40,000 participants practicing yoga together on June 21. The event will not be limited to Kolkata, as yoga sessions are planned on boats along the River Ganga. Efforts are underway to break the current Guinness World Record of 450 participants on boats by linking 500 boats in Bengal, spreading yoga programs across various locations to reach all segments of society.
