Kotak Mahindra Bank founder Uday Kotak remarked on the recent US intervention in Venezuela, emphasizing the global competition for power among nations. He noted Venezuela’s significant oil reserves, suggesting a connection to the US’s actions in the country. Kotak highlighted the shift towards hard power dominance over soft power in international relations, expressing concerns about the escalating race between nations.

President Donald Trump announced plans for US oil companies to invest in Venezuela’s oil industry following the capture of President Nicholas Maduro. Trump mentioned the recovery of oil assets previously nationalized by Venezuela from US companies. The US aims to oversee Venezuela until a stable transition can be established, as stated by Trump after the military operation.

Maduro and his wife were taken into US custody after being flown out of Caracas on a US helicopter. They were transported to Guantanamo Bay before landing in New York, where they will face drug trafficking charges. Venezuela declared a state of national emergency in response to the military intervention, reaffirming Maduro as the country’s legitimate leader.
