Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President B.K. Hariprasad criticized the Narendra Modi-led Union government after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Hariprasad, speaking in Bengaluru, highlighted the victory of the student movement against alleged education sector irregularities.
Hariprasad drew parallels with former Education Ministers, praising leaders like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad for their contributions to India’s educational institutions. He lamented the government’s failure to prioritize education despite past promises of reform. Hariprasad also noted a decline in university standards under the current administration.
The KPCC President emphasized the importance of student protests in bringing about Pradhan’s resignation. He demanded justice for students affected by alleged examination malpractices and paper leaks. Hariprasad called for the fulfillment of demands raised by Rahul Gandhi and student organizations, vowing to continue agitation until they are met.
Hariprasad further criticized the handling of student protests, dismissing allegations of criminal infiltration and condemning police actions against protesters. He questioned the prolonged detention of activist Umar Khalid and took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s communication advice to youth.
