Kritika Kamra brought back the iconic 1970s fashion through her character Gulrukh in Matka King. Drawing inspiration from Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman, Sharmila Tagore, and Rekha, she meticulously styled her role. The team delved into the era’s essence, with costume designer Priyanka Dubey conducting multiple trials to perfect Gulrukh’s look.

Not limited to actresses, Kritika also drew inspiration from jazz clubs and Parsi events for her character. Every detail, from hair to accessories, was carefully curated to reflect the era authentically. The costume, hair, and makeup played a significant role in shaping Gulrukh’s persona and aiding Kritika in embodying the character.

In the series Matka King, alongside Kritika, are Vijay Varma and Sai Tamhankar. The show narrates the tale of a Mumbai-based cotton trader in the 1960s who introduces a new gambling game called ‘Matka.’ Kritika recently tied the knot with Gaurav Kapur in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends on March 11.

Kritika Kamra stepped into the acting world in 2007 with her debut in Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar. Over the years, she has essayed diverse roles in various projects, including Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Pyaar Ka Bandhan, and Reporters. Her film debut came in 2018 with Mitron, and she portrayed a college student named Sana in the web series Tandav in 2021.

In the upcoming film Bheed, slated for 2023, Kritika will be seen as a reporter named Vidhi. Additionally, she will portray the character Habiba in Bambai Meri Jaan in the same year. Her latest project, Gyaarah Gyaarah, marks her most recent release.
