In a similar gesture, singer Shaan also paid tribute to R.D. Burman by singing the classic ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’. Shaan posted a video on Instagram, serenading the song in a cozy setting at home. He described the weather as beautiful and gloomy, fitting for the occasion, before singing the soulful rendition.
R.D. Burman, known as Pancham Da, had a prolific career spanning three decades, composing music for over 300 films. Some of his iconic tracks include ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’, ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’, and ‘Tere Bina Zindagi Se’. He was married to playback singer Asha Bhosle and passed away at the age of 54 in 1994.
