India’s Lakshya Sen, despite playing with blisters on his right leg, secured the runner-up position in the men’s singles final of the All England Open Badminton Championships 2026. He was defeated by Lin Chun-Yi from Chinese Taipei in a closely contested match that lasted 57 minutes. This marks Sen’s second silver medal at the event, having also finished as runner-up in 2022.
Lin Chun-Yi, who had previously won the India Open Super 500 title this year, emerged victorious in the prestigious tournament, becoming the first men’s singles player from Chinese Taipei to clinch the title. In the final, Lin dominated the opening game with sharp attacking rallies, maintaining control and eventually winning the first set 21-15.
Despite a strong comeback attempt from Sen in the second game, Lin managed to level the score and force a tense finish. The match went to deuce twice, with Lin ultimately prevailing 22-20 in the second game to secure the championship title. Sen displayed resilience and commendable performance throughout the match, showcasing determination and skill, especially in the second game.
