Top badminton players Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, and Ayush Shetty secured victories to progress to the second round of the China Open in Changzhou. Lakshya overcame Japan’s Yushi Tanaka in a tough match, while Sindhu defeated Unnati Hooda from India. Ayush Shetty impressed with a win over Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan to advance to the last 16.

Sindhu continued her winning streak from the Japan Open with a hard-fought victory over Hooda, setting up a clash with Chen Yufei in the next round. Ayush Shetty’s win over Farhan marked a significant upset, avenging his loss at the 2023 World Junior Championships. India, however, faced disappointments in the doubles events at the tournament.

In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty secured their places in the next round with determined performances. PV Sindhu also advanced after a challenging match against Unnati Hooda. The Indian players faced tough competition but managed to secure crucial wins to progress in the tournament.
