A late-night altercation in Jodhpur’s Acharya Ka Bas area escalated into stone-pelting and vandalism, causing tension in the locality. The incident, triggered by a dispute after youths allegedly collided with women with their bikes, led to a group returning and pelting stones, creating panic. Police have initiated a search operation to apprehend the accused, with the situation currently under control.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began when two youths on a motorcycle collided with women heading to a nearby event, leading to a confrontation when locals intervened. Despite attempts to calm the situation, the youths allegedly misbehaved and later returned with others to engage in stone-pelting. The accused also caused damage to vehicles and local decorations before fleeing the scene.
Local youth Nitesh sustained serious injuries during the violence, prompting police intervention to restore order. DCP Manish Kumar Chaudhary and Police Commissioner Sharad Kaviraj visited the site, assuring the community of swift action. Security has been heightened, and videos of the incident are aiding in identifying and apprehending the culprits.
Officials have assured that those responsible for the violence will be located and arrested promptly. The police have detained several suspects for questioning based on a filed complaint, with the situation now stabilized after the deployment of additional forces during the Gangaur procession.
