Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, visited Manipur to assess the security scenario amidst ongoing challenges. Accompanied by senior commanders, he inspected key areas in Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Imphal West districts. Lt Gen Pendharkar interacted with troops, emphasizing the importance of readiness to tackle security threats effectively.

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Inspector General Rajendra N. Dash met with Yumnam Khemchand Singh to discuss the state’s security situation. Singh highlighted their commitment to peace and stability, ensuring the safety of all citizens. Additionally, security forces apprehended five militants linked to insurgent groups like Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), seizing arms and ammunition.

In a separate incident, Md. Jayad Khan, a drug peddler from Thoubal district, was arrested with heroin and firearms. Security operations against militant outfits have intensified in Manipur, with a focus on search missions and area control drives. To prevent illegal activities, 103 checkpoints have been set up across the state, with security personnel escorting essential goods vehicles on the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway (NH-37).
