The Lok Sabha reconvened at 5 p.m. to discuss the anti-paper leak bill but faced disruptions, leading to its adjournment till Tuesday. Despite the Chair’s call for a meaningful debate on the bill, the Opposition continued with noisy protests and slogans. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized the importance of the bill and urged for constructive discussions.

Krishna Prasad Tenneti, presiding over the proceedings, appealed to the Opposition to engage in a fruitful debate, but chaos persisted in the House. Rijiju highlighted that the bill’s discussion was demanded by the Opposition and expressed disappointment over their disruptive behavior. The Speaker had extended the debate hours, emphasizing the bill’s significance for students’ future.

Tenneti stressed the bill’s impact on students’ lives and expressed disappointment over the lack of constructive debate. He questioned the Opposition’s reluctance to engage in discussions on a matter crucial for the nation’s youth. With no improvement in the situation, the House was adjourned till Tuesday morning for further deliberations.

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, was introduced in the Lok Sabha earlier in the day by Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh.
