The Lok Sabha faced disruptions on Friday due to Opposition members’ slogans, leading to two adjournments – first till 12 noon and then till 2 PM. Despite the Chair’s refusal, the Opposition sought a debate on LPG shortages, causing chaos when the House resumed at noon.
The uproar continued as Opposition members disregarded the Chair’s instructions, prompting Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju to express disappointment. Rijiju warned of severe public backlash if their behavior did not improve, citing their conduct during a recent no-confidence motion discussion.
Rijiju criticized the Opposition for disrupting proceedings despite agreeing to the day’s agenda during a Business Advisory Committee meeting. He emphasized the need for improved behavior, especially after a lengthy debate on the no-confidence motion, and singled out Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for criticism.
