A day after meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, the Lok Sabha MP from Purnea, detailed an alleged ordeal and requested the Speaker’s intervention. Yadav met with the Speaker in New Delhi, presenting evidence of events on February 6 and urging action on what he termed a serious matter. He claimed that his residence in Patna was raided without a warrant around 9:30 p.m., leading to his arrest later that night amid a large police presence.
Yadav stated that despite his declining health, his plea for house arrest was turned down. He criticized the manner of his arrest, alleging a lack of respect for his status as an MP and Supreme Court guidelines. Following his arrest, Yadav described being taken to a hospital in the middle of the night and reportedly left unattended on a stretcher for hours. He highlighted what he called inhumane treatment by the police during this period.
Despite a court order, Yadav claimed he was not given proper medical care at Patna Medical College and Hospital and was swiftly transferred to Beur Jail with the involvement of police and administration. Currently receiving medical treatment in Delhi, Yadav emphasized that he faces no major criminal charges except those related to his activism. He alleged that the actions against him were intended to silence him on a case involving a NEET aspirant, where he accused the police, mafia, and influential figures of collusion.
Yadav expressed confidence in the judiciary and the public but stressed the necessity for firm action against what he perceived as ongoing conspiracies to suppress his voice.
