Panic struck Chandigarh on Wednesday as a low-intensity explosion occurred outside the BJP’s office in Sector 37, leading to a swift response from authorities. The blast’s sound was heard over a significant distance, causing alarm among locals and passersby. Police and fire department personnel, along with senior officials, promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the news.

The area was quickly secured, and an investigation was launched to determine the cause and nature of the explosion. Authorities cordoned off the locality and commenced a thorough search operation. CCTV footage from nearby areas is under scrutiny to identify any suspicious activities before or after the incident.

Reports suggest the explosion happened around 4:30 p.m., resulting in damage to vehicles parked outside the BJP office. While some two-wheelers and cars were visibly impacted, fortunately, no casualties have been reported. The blast caused damage to several vehicles, leaving broken parts and marks at the site. Although initial assessments point to a low-intensity blast, officials are exploring all possibilities, and forensic teams will investigate further.

Photographs from the scene depict police presence and damaged vehicles nearby. Although the impact was limited, it raised concerns in the vicinity. BJP leader Vineet Joshi mentioned that some vehicles suffered minor damages, noting the sound of the explosion alerted the police. Sources indicate the blast was of low intensity, prompting an alert across Chandigarh and heightened vigilance in sensitive areas as a precaution.

Authorities suspect the involvement of individuals on motorcycles in the incident, although this has not been officially confirmed. A comprehensive investigation is ongoing to unravel the events leading to the explosion, with officials examining all aspects to piece together the sequence of events.
