A regular weekday morning took a surprising turn for Oracle Corporation employees as reports of significant layoffs emerged. Employees from various teams reportedly started receiving termination emails as early as 6 AM, leading to confusion and uncertainty among the workforce. The company is speculated to have laid off between 20,000 and 30,000 employees globally, accounting for nearly 18% of its total workforce of approximately 162,000 individuals.

The exact number of layoffs and details regarding severance packages and support for affected employees have not been officially confirmed by Oracle. The reported job cuts have impacted multiple departments, including engineering, cloud operations, sales, and cybersecurity. In India, an estimated 12,000 employees are believed to have been affected, although this figure lacks official confirmation.

As news of the layoffs spread, employees turned to social media to share their experiences, highlighting emotional and financial stress caused by the sudden job cuts. Many affected individuals are now exploring new job opportunities, with one employee expressing shock at receiving a termination email after just a year of joining the company. The employee mentioned receiving a severance package of approximately Rs 6 lakh and one year of insurance coverage.

Another employee discussed the emotional toll of the layoffs, emphasizing the challenge of coping with the sudden loss of routine and stability. Despite the uncertainty, they remain hopeful about discovering new opportunities in the future.
