Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav unveiled the new Terminal-1 at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, providing upgraded facilities to the city and the Malwa region. The revamped terminal, costing approximately Rs 50 crore, is set to enhance passenger services and boost the airport’s capacity. Yadav expressed the government’s goal of establishing airports, airstrips, and helipads at regular intervals across the state to improve connectivity and drive economic development.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s plan to enhance regional connectivity, tourism, and trade through improved aviation infrastructure. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to modernize passenger amenities at Indore airport to offer a seamless travel experience. The inauguration of Terminal-1 is expected to elevate Indore’s status in the national and international aviation sectors.
Yadav also recognized the Quality Certificate of Registration received by Indore airport from the American Quality Council and commended airport officials for their achievement. Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu participated virtually in the inauguration event. The ceremony, graced by Indore Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani, commenced with the traditional lamp lighting by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
Various dignitaries, including Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, former ministers Mahendra Hardia and Usha Thakur, MLA Malini Gaur, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, and numerous citizens, attended the event. Yadav emphasized the state’s progress in infrastructure development, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a key logistics hub in India. The inauguration of Terminal-1 signifies a significant stride towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a prominent aviation and connectivity hub in the country.
