Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced the integration of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign with the state government’s ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’ to enhance water conservation efforts and support farmers. The campaign, currently active in Madhya Pradesh, focuses on building water structures and rejuvenating dried water sources to benefit farmers directly. Dr. Yadav emphasized the alignment of the campaign with the goals of the Farmer Welfare Year to maximize impact through collaborative actions.
Highlighting the pivotal role of farmers in the state’s heritage and future prosperity, Chief Minister Yadav praised their contributions to society. He underscored the importance of recognizing farmers as providers not just for their families but for the entire community. Yadav’s remarks came during a review meeting at his residence, where he also discussed the upcoming ‘Agriculture Lokarang–2026’ event, a significant component of the Farmer Welfare Year.
In preparation for ‘Agriculture Lokarang–2026′, Chief Minister Yadav instructed officials to ensure a vibrant celebration of farmers’ lives, traditions, and agricultural practices. He emphasized the need to honor progressive farmers and educate them on modern agricultural techniques, water conservation, and sustainable farming practices. Additionally, Yadav urged farmers to refrain from burning crop residue and proposed engaging activities like an agriculture quiz competition to enhance participation and awareness.
To enhance the reach of Agriculture Lokarang in rural areas, Yadav suggested showcasing local products, handicrafts, and agricultural industries to facilitate market connections for farmers. He also recommended linking Agriculture Lokarang with local fairs organized by urban and rural bodies to broaden engagement and disseminate information about government initiatives effectively. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of recognizing and rewarding farmers who adopt natural farming practices and excel in marketing their products at state events like Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations.
