Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently met with several Union ministers in New Delhi to address various key issues. These discussions included preparations for Simhastha 2028, the proposed Ujjain airport, law enforcement, agriculture, irrigation, urban development, and the Uniform Civil Code. Yadav emphasized the importance of these meetings for the state’s future roadmap and development agenda.
During his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Yadav discussed anti-Naxal operations and development initiatives in Dindori and Balaghat districts. He highlighted the efforts of security forces and the administration in promoting development and peace in these regions. The leaders also talked about implementing new criminal laws and enhancing law enforcement through technology-driven policing.
In a separate meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, the Chief Minister focused on the proposed Ujjain airport project and the necessity of expanding air connectivity to support religious tourism related to Mahakal Lok and Simhastha. Yadav stressed the significance of improving air connectivity due to the growing scope of religious tourism in Ujjain. Discussions also touched on the Ujjain-Indore Metropolitan Planning Authority, regional infrastructure, tourism growth, and new air routes.
Yadav also engaged with Union Minister Manohar Lal to review preparations for Simhastha 2028, emphasizing infrastructure development, traffic management, urban expansion, and civic amenities for the upcoming religious event. The state government aims to elevate the stature of the Simhastha Mahakumbh in Ujjain to a world-class level through various development initiatives. Discussions encompassed Smart City projects, sanitation efforts under the Swachhata Mission, and urban planning.
In a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, Yadav sought an increase in the wheat procurement target, citing the record wheat production in Madhya Pradesh this year. The leaders also discussed initiatives such as the PM Kusum Yojana, solar energy expansion, irrigation projects, affordable power supply to farmers, and the Betwa-Parbati-Kalisindh River Interlinking Project. Additionally, Yadav mentioned the initiation of the Uniform Civil Code process in the state, highlighting the formation of a committee and the intention to gather input from various societal stakeholders.
