Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to lay the foundation stone for the “Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Smart Industrial Park” in Bhopal on the birth anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, India’s first Minister of Industry and Supplies.
The industrial park, spanning about 173 acres in the Satgarhi area of Kolar, aims to enhance Bhopal’s industrial landscape and solidify Madhya Pradesh’s status as a prime investment hub in India. It will boast top-notch infrastructure, encompassing road and transport links, IT and AI-enabled amenities, logistics and warehousing facilities, and modern conveniences tailored to future industrial requirements.
Following a ‘Work-Live-Grow’ model, the park will integrate industries with skill development, innovation, and quality living spaces. It targets attracting high-value manufacturing, garments, toys, IT, AI, logistics, and emerging technology sectors, with a projection of generating over 15,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, notably benefiting local youth and stimulating the regional economy.
The project includes a proposed world-class convention and exhibition center spread across 25 acres, with a capacity to accommodate over 10,000 individuals. This center will position Bhopal as a significant MICE destination in Central India, hosting national and international investor summits, industrial exhibitions, and business events.
Situated advantageously in Satgarhi with connectivity to key locations like Raja Bhoj International Airport, Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, Kolar Road, and the proposed western bypass, the industrial park is poised to become a pivotal hub for logistics, connectivity-based industries, and commercial activities. It will be developed as an environmentally sustainable and smart industrial zone, featuring advanced facilities such as a SCADA-based water management system, water and sewage treatment plants, automated air quality monitoring, electric vehicle charging stations, and modern security systems.
More than 200 industrialists, investors, and industry representatives from across the country and the state are expected to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony. The project is anticipated to transform Kolar into a bustling center of industry, investment, and employment, shifting its development focus from predominantly residential to industrial.
