Madhya Pradesh Congress criticized the BJP-led Centre for using force against students protesting the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. They demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging a lack of accountability for the leak. AICC spokesperson Shobha Oza condemned the police response to the students’ peaceful protest, highlighting instances of lathi charge and assault on women students.
The party called for justice over the NEET paper leak and criticized the government for resorting to force instead of addressing the students’ grievances. Madhya Pradesh Congress Media in-charge Mukesh Nayak accused the Centre of an “anti-student” stance and questioned the BJP’s commitment to women’s safety. Nayak demanded accountability for the police excesses and urged for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
Emphasizing the need for a fair investigation into the paper leak, Congress leaders expressed disappointment in the government’s suppression of student voices through police action. They reiterated the call for a judicial inquiry into the Jantar Mantar incident and insisted on strict action against any police personnel found guilty of misconduct. Nayak also criticized the BJP government for the prevailing law and order issues in Madhya Pradesh and questioned the presence of Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah in the state Cabinet.
