The Madhya Pradesh Congress has criticized the BJP-led state government after Chief Secretary Anurag Jain allegedly made strong statements during a recent conference with District Collectors. Reports suggest that Jain warned Collectors that he is aware of all irregularities in districts, leading to opposition claims of institutionalized corruption by the ruling BJP. State Congress President Jitu Patwari questioned the government’s lack of action despite being informed of these issues.
The opposition alleges that the BJP has allowed corruption to flourish in Madhya Pradesh for two decades, with Patwari highlighting the involvement of ministers and BJP MLAs in corrupt practices. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar supported these claims, stating that the Chief Secretary’s remarks confirm widespread corruption under the BJP’s rule. Singhar emphasized the need to eliminate middlemen and ensure accountability in the state’s governance.
The controversy has heightened political tensions in Madhya Pradesh, with Congress leaders using the alleged comments to underscore systemic problems within the government. No official response has been issued by the Chief Secretary’s office or the state government regarding the reported statements, as scrutiny over transparency and anti-corruption efforts continues in the state.
