Madhya Pradesh encountered erratic weather changes with sporadic rainfall and significant temperature fluctuations in the last 24 hours, as reported by the India Meteorological Department’s Bhopal office. Looking forward, the IMD has predicted rainfall or drizzle in specific districts like Bhopal, Vidisha, and others until Saturday morning. Thunderstorm and lightning alerts have been issued for isolated areas in various districts, urging precautionary measures such as staying indoors and safeguarding crops.
Residents are advised to remain cautious due to the unusual weather conditions caused by subtropical jet streams and cyclonic systems. Rainfall was observed in certain divisions, while other parts of the state remained dry. The weather forecast for Bhopal and nearby regions includes cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall, and average temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius maximum and 14 degrees Celsius minimum.
The IMD also highlighted a potential rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius after 24 hours, with no significant changes expected in the next five days. A slight impact from a Western Disturbance is anticipated in the western Himalayas starting February 22. Temperature variations were noted across different divisions, with maximum temperatures fluctuating and some areas experiencing above-normal minimum temperatures.
Analysis of temperature maps by the IMD indicates regional temperature disparities, with warmer conditions in certain districts compared to cooler areas. These variations are attributed to the influence of weather patterns like western disturbance troughs and cyclonic circulations.
