The Madhya Pradesh government confirmed that there is no shortage of LPG and petroleum products in the state. Chief Secretary Anurag Jain led a meeting to evaluate the availability and distribution of these essential items, emphasizing the need to prevent hoarding and black marketing.
During the meeting, it was revealed that authorities have seized 3,029 LPG cylinders and conducted 2,759 raids to combat black marketing. District Collectors were instructed to enforce the Essential Commodities Act strictly and penalize any malpractice effectively.
Chief Secretary Jain expressed satisfaction over the disappearance of long queues at petrol pumps and gas agencies, directing daily reviews of petroleum product availability at state and district levels. The government has received an additional 10% LPG allocation from the Centre to meet demands effectively.
Authorities have also allocated an extra 20% commercial LPG for specific industries, ensuring proper distribution to sectors like steel, automotive, textiles, and chemicals. Efforts are underway to maximize domestic PNG connections in districts with available pipelines and restore disconnected domestic connections promptly.
The meeting highlighted the importance of promoting alternative energy sources through awareness campaigns and swift action against hoarding and black marketing. District administrations were urged to ensure uninterrupted petroleum product supply to the public, emphasizing the need for efficient and transparent distribution channels.
