A day before Republic Day, the government revealed the names of officers and personnel from across the country honored with gallantry and service medals. Madhya Pradesh stood out in this list, with four officers receiving the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service and 17 personnel awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs highlighted the state’s strong tradition of dedication, discipline, and public service through these selections.
The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service was given to Santosh Kumar Singh, Mithelesh Kumar Shukla, Awadhesh Kumar Goswami, and Shiv Kumar Patel for their exceptional contributions to policing, leadership, and public safety. The Medal for Meritorious Service was bestowed upon a diverse group of officers and ranks, showcasing the talent and commitment within the Madhya Pradesh Police force.
The awardees include officers like Krishnaveni Desavatu, Manoj Kumar Rai, Gitesh Kumar Garg, Durgesh Kumar Rathore, and several others, recognizing their dedication and service. In total, 982 personnel from various services nationwide were honored with gallantry and service medals this year. These awards, given annually on Republic Day and Independence Day, acknowledge acts of gallantry, distinguished service, and meritorious contributions in upholding law and order and ensuring citizen safety.
The recognition of Madhya Pradesh’s officers and personnel not only brings pride to the state but also underscores the professionalism and integrity of its police force.
