No. 26 seed Madison Keys showcased her exceptional grass-court prowess by staging a remarkable comeback victory over Amanda Anisimova, the 2025 Wimbledon finalist. Keys triumphed 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday at the All England Club, securing her spot in the fourth round.
Having recently clinched the title in Eastbourne, Keys extended her winning streak to 10 matches and secured her sixth appearance in the Wimbledon Round of 16. This win marked her 30th main draw victory at Wimbledon and avenged her sole defeat against Anisimova at the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh.
In a gripping match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes on Centre Court, Keys fought back from a set down. Anisimova, who relied heavily on her serve in the previous round, struggled with seven double faults against Keys, a stark contrast to her earlier performances. Keys capitalized on Anisimova’s errors, dominating the final two sets with her powerful baseline game.
Keys’ victory has further opened up the bottom half of the women’s singles draw following the unexpected exits of No.2 seed Elena Rybakina and No.3 seed Iga Swiatek. She is set to face No.9 seed Linda Noskova in the next round, who also staged a remarkable comeback to secure a thrilling 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(9) victory over No.17 seed Sorana Cirstea.
