Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the importance of transparency, strict timelines, and reliability in all government departments to ensure citizens benefit from schemes efficiently and work towards a developed Maharashtra. He made these remarks at an event recognizing excellence in the “150-Day E-Governance Reform Programme.” Heads of departments and service personnel who excelled in this initiative were honored with certificates by the Chief Minister.
Fadnavis directed the Information Technology Department to implement the concept of “One State, One Portal” to streamline services and eliminate confusion caused by multiple government websites. Emphasizing the need to prioritize easy access to government facilities for citizens, he announced the development of a unique “Maha ID” system to centralize access to government schemes and prevent misuse of services.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister instructed the Chief Secretary to establish a time-bound program for departments to transition to a paperless system through the e-office. He inaugurated the “MahaSarathi” portal, describing it as a comprehensive “Data Bank” that consolidates government data for seamless inter-departmental communication. The state will also leverage advanced technologies like Generative Artificial Intelligence, Chatbots, and Blockchain to enhance services and efficiency.
Reflecting on recent achievements, Fadnavis noted the positive impact of reviewing 42 departments over the past 150-200 days, leading to the promotion of around 40,000 officials and employees. Maharashtra currently leads in India on the Integrated Government Online Training platform. The Chief Minister commended all departments, employees, and service personnel for the successful completion of the initial phase of the 150-day E-Governance reform period.
