Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside Chris Lehane and Azeez Gupta, introduced Shiksha Saathi at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. This AI tool aims to enhance the skills of Anganwadi Workers in Maharashtra. Shiksha Saathi, a WhatsApp-based assistant, offers guidance on child development, curriculum-based practices, and strategies for creating positive learning environments.
Fadnavis highlighted that Maharashtra is the first state to collaborate with OpenAI and Rocket Learning for this initiative. The tool will provide real-time support to Anganwadi workers, improving learning outcomes for children in the state. The government is dedicated to using technology to empower frontline workers and advance Early Childhood Education.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of AI in agriculture during the summit. He stressed the need for AI to benefit farmers on a large scale, addressing challenges like food security and climate resilience. Maharashtra’s Maha-Agri AI Policy aims to provide personalized advisory services, market updates, and climate warnings to farmers through a mobile platform.
Fadnavis expressed readiness to work with the Government of India and global partners to enhance farmers’ lives through technology. He underlined the significance of AI-based solutions in addressing agricultural challenges and improving farmers’ welfare. Maharashtra’s focus is on developing AI-driven tools for testing, integration, and crop sensing to benefit farmers across the state.
