Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was urgently taken to a private hospital in Thane when his health unexpectedly worsened. Reports suggest that Shinde is currently receiving specialized medical care, and his condition is reported to be stable. Sources from the Shiv Sena have indicated that Shinde’s health decline was a result of excessive physical strain and work pressure in recent days.
While the state legislature session was in progress on Friday, Shinde developed a high fever and extreme weakness. Despite feeling unwell, he continued working until his condition deteriorated, requiring immediate hospitalization in Thane. Although Shinde is undergoing treatment and observation in the hospital, there is no significant cause for concern, as confirmed by Shiv Sena sources.
The sudden illness comes after a period of intense political activity in Maharashtra, with Shinde playing a central role in ‘Operation Tiger.’ This initiative witnessed significant political shifts as six MPs from the Thackeray faction and Mumbai MLC Sachin Ahir switched their allegiance to Shiv Sena under Shinde’s leadership. The strenuous efforts involved in executing these political maneuvers, including frequent trips to New Delhi, reportedly led to Shinde’s exhaustion and subsequent health setback.
