Amid financial prudence measures due to the West Asia situation, the Maharashtra government sanctioned development plans worth Rs 993.72 crore for six pilgrimage sites, forts, and historical spots. The funds will be used for the preservation, conservation, and infrastructure development of these sites. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led the apex committee that approved the projects and fund allocation.
The approved projects include various initiatives such as the development of Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar, conservation of Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s birthplace, preservation of Ajinkyatara Fort, and development plans for other significant locations. The allocated funds will cater to the enhancement and maintenance of these historical and religious sites.
Under the development plan for Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga area, modern facilities like a bus station and parking areas will be constructed. Additionally, road-widening projects and infrastructure improvements are planned to alleviate traffic congestion. The comprehensive project aims to enhance the overall experience for visitors and devotees.
Various projects under the approved plans focus on different aspects such as road beautification, sanitation systems, accommodation facilities, and conservation of natural surroundings. The initiatives aim to not only preserve the historical and religious significance of these sites but also to provide better amenities for tourists and devotees. The government is committed to executing these projects efficiently to enhance the tourism potential of these locations.
