Maharashtra NCP-SP President Shashikant Shinde dismissed any talks of a reconciliation, reunification, or merger with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction. He clarified that discussions regarding a merger are completely off the table and firmly closed. The party leadership, during a recent meeting, explicitly stated that there is no chance of a merger with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
Shinde, addressing reporters after the meeting chaired by party President Sharad Pawar, emphasized that there will be no merging of the two NCP factions. Instead, the focus will be on strengthening the party’s organizational base and becoming a strong opposition by protesting against various issues in Maharashtra. This decision was made in the presence of key party members like Supriya Sule and Jayant Patil.
The party aims to eliminate any confusion among its members and concentrate on building a robust organizational structure. Shinde highlighted that the primary goal now is to reinforce the existing party framework. The NCP-SP intends to establish itself as a prominent opposition voice against the ruling BJP-led MahaYuti alliance, as confirmed during the high-level meeting with Sharad Pawar’s presence.
