The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, representing the Maharashtra government, has entered into agreements with global companies to develop the growth center in Pen tehsil of Raigad district. The project, known as the ‘Third Mumbai’, aims to become a hub for technology, fintech, and data centers, featuring India’s first Global Capability Centre district. Various companies from South Korea, Switzerland, the US, Finland, India, the UAE, and Singapore are part of the collaboration, as per the Chief Minister’s Office. During the World Economic Forum, Fadnavis interacted with Andrew Ponec, CEO of Antora Energy, discussing thermal energy storage solutions for sustainable industrial growth. Additionally, he exchanged views on geopolitics and business opportunities with Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha and explored technology landscapes with Hewlett-Packard’s Patricia F. Russo and Bhawna Agarwal.
Further, Fadnavis conversed with Alon Stopel of the Israel Innovation Authority on innovation partnerships and met Maersk CEO Vincent Clerk to discuss circular economy aspects in Mumbai Data Centre and development projects in Maharashtra.
