Indian automobile giant Mahindra & Mahindra revealed that its total auto sales for March 2026 reached 99,969 vehicles, showing a significant 21% increase, which includes exports. The company’s domestic sales of Utility Vehicles surged to 60,272 units, marking a 25% growth, with overall UV sales, including exports, hitting 62,109 units. Additionally, Domestic Commercial Vehicles sales saw a rise of 11% to 24,928 units in the same month.
The company noted a notable 18% increase in year-to-date exports, totaling 40,990 units, although total exports experienced a slight 4% decline year-on-year, amounting to 3,968 vehicles in March. Mahindra & Mahindra concluded the financial year with record-breaking volumes of 6,60,276 SUVs and 2,89,597 light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes, showcasing robust year-on-year growth of 20% and 13%, respectively, across both segments.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd, highlighted the achievements in March, citing a 25% growth in SUV sales to 60,272 units and an 11% year-on-year increase in light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes to 24,928 units. Notably, Passenger vehicle domestic sales for March comprised solely of 60,272 UVs, with no cars or vans reported in the release.
In the commercial vehicle and three-wheeler category, LCVs under 2 tonnes remained steady at 3,526 units in March, while LCVs in the 2–3.5 tonne segment saw a 13% rise to 21,402 units. Three-wheeler sales, including electric three-wheelers, surged by 39% to 10,801 units in March, with year-to-date volumes for three-wheelers reaching 1,12,003 units, reflecting a 30% increase.
Mahindra & Mahindra had previously reported a solid sales growth in February 2026, with overall auto sales climbing by 18% year-on-year to 97,177 vehicles, including exports. The company attributed the growth to its UV segment, with 60,018 SUVs sold in the domestic market, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period last year. Consequently, M&M shares were trading at Rs 3,051, up by 3% on the NSE on Wednesday noon.
