Following a fatal road rage incident in Siwan, Bihar, where a youth lost his life and another was critically injured, the police have apprehended the main suspect, Chhotu Yadav, after an early morning encounter. The police acted swiftly, identifying Chhotu Kumar Yadav, the prime accused, within hours of the incident. Chhotu Kumar Yadav, son of Veer Yadav from Hathaura village, was located during a late-night operation.
Avinash Kumar, the SHO of Town police station, mentioned that when officers tried to arrest Chhotu Yadav around 3.00 a.m., he attempted to escape and fired at the police team. In response, the police fired back, injuring him in both legs, leading to his capture. The injured suspect is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital and has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital for further care.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect’s condition is stable, and no police personnel were harmed during the encounter. Senior officers, including SP Puran Kumar Jha, SDPO Ajay Kumar, and Town Police Station In-charge Avinash Kumar, have visited the crime scene and intensified the investigation.
Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain order and prevent any further incidents. While Chhotu Yadav is the primary suspect, the police are actively pursuing other individuals involved in the crime through continuous raids to ensure justice prevails.
Town Police Station In-charge Avinash Kumar mentioned that a thorough investigation is ongoing, focusing on the motive behind the incident. The accused is being interrogated, and statements are being taken from the family members of BJP leader Manoj Singh.
The tragic incident occurred during a minor road dispute near the Laxmipur-Aandar Dhala overbridge in Siwan, resulting in the death of Harsh Kumar Singh (28), nephew of BJP leader Manoj Singh, and critical injuries to his brother-in-law Chandan Singh. The altercation, starting as a verbal dispute, quickly escalated into indiscriminate firing by the accused.
