The main suspect in the abduction and killing of a four-year-old girl in Gujarat’s Anand district passed away during a police encounter. Suresh Parmar, the accused, was apprehended by the Borsad Rural Police shortly after the incident and later transferred to the Anand Local Crime Branch for further inquiry.
The unfortunate event occurred while Parmar was being transported to Vasad for investigation. Allegedly, he brandished a knife and attacked the accompanying officers in an escape bid. Despite warnings to surrender, Parmar persisted in assaulting the police personnel, leading to officers firing in self-defence.
Following the encounter, Parmar was rushed to Karamsad Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, two officers, Rajveersinh and Mahipalsinh, who were injured during the incident, are currently receiving medical attention.
The confrontation unfolded a day subsequent to Parmar’s arrest in connection with the girl’s demise near Vasad railway station. The tragic incident had sparked public outcry amid suspicions of sexual assault. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the kidnapping and murder case, awaiting forensic and medical reports to ascertain the exact nature of the crime.
