The Malian army has successfully neutralized more than 100 terrorists in the western region of Koulikoro. Following recent terrorist attacks, Malian air assets identified a group of motorcycles heading towards a hideout in Kolokani, Koulikoro. Airstrikes were promptly conducted, resulting in the elimination of the terrorists and the destruction of their supplies.
The army has affirmed its commitment to pursuing terrorist groups throughout the national territory. The government reported that various military positions and towns, including Kati near Bamako, faced attacks by armed terrorist groups. Tragically, Mali’s Defence Minister Sadio Camara lost his life in an attack on his residence in Kati, with 16 individuals sustaining injuries during the coordinated assaults across the country.
In response to the security situation, the Indian Embassy in Mali has advised all Indian nationals to exercise caution and vigilance. The embassy emphasized the need for residents to stay indoors, follow local authorities’ guidance, and stay informed about the evolving circumstances.
