A man, the main suspect in the murder of an agriculture officer, along with his family, tragically ended their lives by jumping in front of a goods train at Singarayakonda Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district. The bodies of Kudumula Harikrishna, his wife, and their two children were discovered on the tracks and later taken to a government hospital for postmortem examination.
Originally presumed to be a natural death, further investigations uncovered that Harikrishna had allegedly murdered Srihari by administering a lethal injection commonly used for dogs. The motive behind the murder was suspected to be linked to a family property dispute and a loan owed by Srihari to the accused. Following a complaint by Srihari’s wife, Lavanya, an inquiry was initiated, leading to the revelation of Harikrishna’s involvement in the crime.
Superintendent of Police Anita Vejendla’s intervention exposed the truth that Srihari was indeed murdered, with Harikrishna identified as the perpetrator. Subsequently, two accomplices of Harikrishna were apprehended in connection with the murder. As the investigation progressed, Harikrishna went into hiding, releasing a video denying the allegations against him.
In response to the alleged negligence in handling the case, the Nellore district SP took decisive action by transferring all 23 police personnel stationed at the police station and attaching the Circle Inspector to the Reserve unit.
