In a tragic incident in Godda, Jharkhand, a 60-year-old man named Kishan Das reportedly brutally killed his wife, Ruby Devi, in front of their two young grandsons following a domestic argument fueled by alcohol. The horrifying crime occurred in Ghasichak village under Surni Panchayat in Meharma block, where Das, known for his alcohol addiction, frequently clashed with his wife over household issues.
Local residents and initial police findings revealed that Das, in an inebriated state, engaged in a heated altercation with Ruby Devi upon returning home on that fateful day. The situation escalated, leading him to silence his wife with a cloth and then viciously attack her with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries to her neck and body.
During the brutal assault, the couple’s grandsons, Luv and Kush, witnessed the horrific scene along with their grandmother. Despite the children’s cries for help attracting nearby villagers, Das managed to flee before anyone could intervene. Ruby Devi was found in critical condition, rushed to a hospital, and later succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts.
Following the distressing incident, the traumatized children recounted the events to the authorities. Meharma police, led by station in-charge Saurabh Kumar Thakur, initiated an investigation upon receiving the report. A blood-stained weapon, presumably the one used in the crime, was recovered by the police, who are conducting searches to apprehend the fleeing suspect amidst growing fear and anger in the village.
