A disturbing case unfolded in Mumbai’s Sakinaka area where a man planned to kill his wife to pursue a relationship with his girlfriend. The accused paid Rs 6.70 lakh to have his wife murdered and tried to make it look like a suicide. Initially deemed accidental, the case took a turn due to the victim’s father’s persistent doubts.
Four individuals, including the husband Sakaram Chaudhary (36), were apprehended by the Sakinaka Police in connection with the incident. The others involved were Shankar Dangi (36), Babu alias Raghav alias Amarchand Gayri (22), and Dinesh Gayri (20). The unfortunate event occurred on October 14, 2024, when the lifeless body of Narangi alias Geeta Chaudhary was discovered hanging in her kitchen.
The police, suspecting suicide, initially treated it as an accidental death and conducted an inquiry. However, the victim’s father’s suspicion led to a breakthrough. Following his complaint, a case was registered in Rajasthan, prompting a new phase in the investigation. The body was exhumed, revealing that the woman was strangled to death with an orange rope, leading to a murder investigation.
DCP Datta Nalawade disclosed that the accused husband had made prior unsuccessful attempts to harm his wife. Subsequently, he orchestrated a plan with associates to execute the murder. The motive behind the crime was the husband’s desire to eliminate his wife, viewing her as an impediment to his extramarital affair. The case exemplifies a meticulously planned and chilling conspiracy that was uncovered due to the father’s persistence.
