In a tragic incident in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, a man named Vemulapati Surendra poisoned his three children, aged between two and seven, before taking his own life. The bodies of Kaavyashri (7), Dhyaneshwari (4), Surya Gagan (2), and Surendra (35) were discovered in their home. It is suspected that Surendra gave the children drinks laced with pesticides before hanging himself.
Surendra’s wife, Maheshwari, had previously died by suicide in 2025 due to health issues, leaving him to care for the children. Police believe that personal problems, including financial difficulties and the burden of single-handedly raising the children, led Surendra to commit this tragic act. Locals mentioned that Surendra, a construction worker, was deeply affected by his wife’s death and was struggling to cope.
The shocking incident has deeply affected the community, and the police have initiated an investigation. Samples of food and drinks from the house have been sent for examination to determine the exact cause of the deaths. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Telangana’s Jagtial district, a man named Anjayya was allegedly murdered over a dispute related to a chit fund scheme.
