Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, shot during a police encounter, was in critical condition upon arrival at Shahpur Primary Health Centre. Consequently, he was promptly referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital after initial care, as confirmed by the Bhojpur Civil Surgeon.
Dr. Singa, speaking to the media, mentioned that Tiwari, a resident of Belauti village in Bhojpur district, succumbed during a police operation on June 17. The patient was transferred to Patna hospital from the primary treatment center in Shahpur due to the severity of his condition.
The medical team at Patna Medical College and Hospital was fully prepared to handle Tiwari’s case, with specialists on standby. Despite efforts in the Operation Theatre, it was determined that immediate referral was necessary due to ruptured arteries and the critical nature of the situation.
Sinha, the Civil Surgeon, highlighted that patients in critical conditions from Bhojpur are typically referred to PMCH in Patna. Post-mortem procedures for Tiwari were not conducted at the initial facility, with the process likely taking place in Patna where he passed away.
