A 30-year-old man, Arpit Hada from Indore, was swept away by strong currents while bathing at Sahastradhara Ghat near Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district. Hada had visited the area with his family and slipped into deep water due to the river’s forceful flow. Despite efforts from onlookers, including boatmen and locals, no one could rescue him.
The search operation, involving Maheshwar police, Home Guard personnel, SDRF teams, and divers, began immediately after the incident. Despite extensive searches along the riverbanks, the man remains missing. Authorities emphasized the dangerous conditions of the Narmada River in that area, urging caution to tourists and devotees.
The search operation continued into the next day, with boats and rescue teams scouring the region for any sign of the missing man. Police emphasized the need for caution, especially during the monsoon season when water levels are high. The rescue efforts will persist until the man is located, as authorities stress the importance of following safety guidelines near the river.
