Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and long tenure as India’s Prime Minister. Speaking at the Jan Kalyan Shivir, a Public Welfare Camp, Singh highlighted the camp’s role in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat–Viksit Manipur 2047. The camp, organized by the District Administration of Imphal West, aims to ensure effective delivery of government welfare schemes to eligible citizens.

Singh emphasized the importance of the camp in providing doorstep delivery of various government welfare schemes and services to the people of Manipur. He mentioned the progress of railway projects in Manipur, with the railway line already reaching Khongsang and expected to extend to Imphal within the next two years. Additionally, plans are in place to extend the rail network up to Moreh along the India-Myanmar border to boost connectivity and economic opportunities in the region.

The Chief Minister highlighted the transformation of the Look East Policy into the Act East Policy, positioning Manipur as a gateway to Southeast Asia. This shift is expected to bring new growth opportunities and create a better future for the state’s upcoming generations. Stressing the importance of a peaceful environment for development, Singh urged all communities in Manipur to unite through dialogue for peace and harmony. He called for full cooperation from the people to support the government’s efforts in maintaining lasting peace in the state.
