Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh praised the BJP-led NDA government in Assam for making significant progress in infrastructure development and governance. Speaking at an election rally in Assam’s Cachar district, Singh emphasized the advancements made in infrastructure, public welfare, economic growth, and governance over the past decade. He expressed confidence that Assam is on track to become a strong state, not only in the Northeast but also nationwide, with a call for collective support towards growth and stability.
The Manipur Chief Minister urged the public to vote for the BJP to contribute to Assam’s journey towards a brighter and more prosperous future. The rally, held in support of the BJP candidate from the Udharbond constituency, Rajdeep Goala, saw participation from Manipur BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi and other party leaders, fostering unity and commitment. A significant Manipuri population resides in southern Assam, encompassing districts like Cachar, Sribhumi, and Hailakandi.
As the Assam Assembly elections approach on April 9, with results due on May 4, Manipur Chief Minister Singh met with Thomas Hmar, President of the Hmar Supreme House, Barak Valley, Assam, discussing various issues. Singh lauded Hmar’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in Manipur, highlighting his role in facilitating agreements between different groups. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and inclusive progress for a peaceful and prosperous state.
During his visit to the mixed-populated Jiribam district in Manipur, Singh engaged in various programs before heading to southern Assam to participate in the election campaign. His interactions with local communities aimed at fostering peace, understanding, and development, reflecting a commitment to unity and progress across Manipur.
